Welcome to My Homepage!
My name is Emily Maxwell. I am a student at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. I am a fourth-year senior, and have loved every year. UW-LaCrosse is well-known for it's Teacher Education Program, which is my college of study. While situated in a relatively small town in the Midwest, UW-LaCrosse has incorporated many different programs of study, and provides many different learning experiences for it's students. Many speakers visit each semester, and there is a film festival each semester that focuses on different current issues. Please look through the University of WI-LaCrosse's webiste and enjoy!

I am an education major, and so I am very interested in related topics. I have found a few websites relating to my major that I have found interesting, and have commented on them. I hope you find these of interest.
This website contains current issues and back issues of Education Week. There are many different articles on a wide variety of subjects. Plus, there are many other links to different publications that have related topics. You can search for articles on specific issues, events, or by publication date. I definitely recommend this site to anyone interested in the future of education in America.
This website contains publications of Alfie Kohn, one of the most controversial educational theorists today. He writes and gives lectures all over the country (this website gives his itinerary). He has pushed educators and parents to re-assess beliefs that have long been commonly held as truths. His work is worth noting whether you agree with his ideas or not. I believe that anyone interested in current education issues would be interested in this site.
Wisconsin Education Association
This website gives the latest issues and developments in the Education Profession in Wisconsin. It highlights the WEA functions and information. It is updated regularly and is always an interesting site to visit.
This website highlights the LaCrosse School District. I plan on someday teaching in this district, so I have found this website helpful in understanding the policies and requirements of these schools. It also contains information about the LaCrosse community and current issues and events that are taking place here. It gives job opportunities, parent information, and guest information.
